5x Dual Skilled Fitters

Five Dual Skilled Fitters are required to work on a 15 month contract for a large rail company based in Chester. The rates of pay, shift patters and number of hours are to be confirmed but will be announce in due course.

Purpose of the Job:

My client is dedicated to the successful and safe delivery of its services to its customer and to the achievement of its business plan. This post shall be pivotal to this.
To carry out Overhaul and related maintenance activities on units maintained at the Chester Depot.

Responsibilities:
* Carry out work as allocated by the SPM or Team Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards
* Ensure that safety work is carried out in accordance with the Vehicle Maintenance Instruction or relevant Overhaul Instruction
* Ensure that sign off sheets are correctly complete following completion of work
* Participate in meetings in order that problems are resolved quickly and effectively, continually improving all aspects of the job
* Play an active role in your appraisal, training and development
* Ensure that appropriate quality procedures and work instructions are adhered to
* Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring action taken on items raised
* Undertake Safety Critical Work Regulations assessments under the guidance of the Team Leader, taking remedial action where necessary
* Carry out duties within your level of competence as requested by the Team Leader, SPM or Depot Manager
* Carry out post Overhaul Testing including SIMRET testing
* Adhere to the Just Do It board process
* Work in accordance with the Zero Deviation Policy
* Record and feedback any Return of Experience to Project Team
* Attend any relevant APSYS/Kaizen events as required to support the project
Key Requirements:
* Competent & medically fit to pass a PTS medical
* Candidates will be required to undertake a general Health & Safety Course, Manual Handling Course, Safety Awareness Course & COSHH
* Good attendance and time keeping required, must be prepared to work shifts including days, nights and weekends including bank holidays
* Good technical knowledge to cover mechanical, electrical, plumbing and vehicle building skills
* Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI) & working instructions
