Trainee IT Developer

An exciting position has arisen for a Graduate IT (Junior Developer) to develop technical and analytical skills that will support the Development Team in both Project and regular business activities at our Newcastle office 

Salary: £26,000per year

Key Responsibilities

– Maintain and Support the daily, monthly and adhoc SQL Jobs
– Maintain and Support the daily and monthly BI schedules
– Contribute to projects by supporting the Development Team
– Supporting implementation process
– Proactive monitoring of applications / scheduling to ensure stability of current environment/systems
– Manage the timely and accurate delivery of all activities
– Ensure that the quality of IT developments meet agreed standards
– Provide evidence of training which will be included in Training Portfolio Record.
– Work closely with Mentor and Development Team to develop key skills.
– Work closely with the other teams in the IT department to deliver optimum solutions
– Report progress to Mentor, Peers and Management.
– Build levels of technical competence within the team and share best practice.
– Working at all times lawfully and in accordance with pre-defined regulatory, compliance and financial requirements, 

Skills/ Qualifications 

– Computer Science Degree or similar.
– Keen passion and enthusiasm for IT.
– Academic understanding of Project Management Techniques and Systems Development lifecycle
– Academic understanding /awareness of following technologies:

o ASP.NET;
o SQL and SQL Server 2008
o SSMS, SSRS & SSIS

– Keep abreast of new/emerging technologies within the IT Industry
– Awareness of industry standards and protocol.
– Innovative Thinking
– Appropriate Technical Skills
– Proactive and flexible approach
– Communicate ideas and designs both verbally and in written format.
– A logical and systematic approach to problem solving

Working pattern: 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday however, there may be additional hours required out of office on an adhoc basis.
