Assistant Financial Accountant

My client a service based organisation are actively looking to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their growing finance function.

You will ideally be of graduate calibre, with a can-do professional attitude for this all encompassing position.

The successful candidate will need to have accounts knowledge with some experience, along with good IT skills and be wishing to study towards a professional accountancy qualification, preferably ACCA or CIMA. The role will develop based on knowledge and experience gained both through professional study and day to day responsibilities.

*Prepare and input information and data into the financial systems
*Create sales invoices and allocate receipts
*Oversee manual sales orders and purchase orders
*Ensure accurate and timely transactions on the purchase ledger, including processing supplier payments in accordance with agreed procedures
*Operate the credit control system
*Assist the Financial Accountant in the preparation of monthly management accounts and forecasts
*Undertake ad hoc investigation work into key areas of income and expenditure within the business
*Provide financial support to the Director as required

Person Specification

*Either studying towards or wishing to study towards a relevant accounting qualification
*A high level of numeracy and literacy skills with good attention to detail
*Knowledge of Sage 50
*Good organisational and time management skills
*Proactive and able to challenge assumptions
*Ability to think through a problem and supply a logical solution
*Ability to work primarily in a stand-alone role (multi-disciplined team rather than others in Finance) but also within a finance team
*Ability to communicate financial information to people from a non-financial background
*Ability to work to deadlines
*Detailed knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
