Role Overview

• Responsible to the Team Manager within Aviation Maintenance and Repair to complete varied tasks and/or work activities on matters pertaining to Aircraft Electrical/Electronic Systems.
• Troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and general service work to rotary aircraft for all Apache, Blackhawk and limited Chinook Electrical/Electronic systems and/or avionics systems /technician issues.
• Work closely with the incumbent US Army team to complete timely work for general service and maintenance, but also provide a level of responsiveness activities for emergency and re-set programmes.

Main Activities will include:

• Perform Depot level Time Change Technical Orders and normal TO procedures on all rotatory aircraft systems.
• Perform all levels of work on varied electrical systems including cable termination and re-wiring (harness repairs) maintenance, repairs, and modifications on assigned aircraft.
• Utilise applicable technical data, engineering manuals, and other resources to perform complex repairs on aircraft electrical/electronic systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, understanding symbols, flags and general notes.
• Set up and operate ground support and test equipment to perform functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems. Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, or voltmeters.
• Coordinate work with that of engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel.
• Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components or assemblies, using hand tools or soldering irons.
• Connect components to assemblies such as radio systems, instruments, magnetos, inverters, and in-flight refueling systems, using hand tools and soldering irons.
• Assemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, using hand tools or soldering irons.
• Document maintenance following all standard procedures and forms.
• Assist other organisations on structural repairs when needed.

Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as in rotary and/or unmanned aircraft systems of Aircraft Electrical, Electronics (Avionics) and/or Systems Technician.
• Read and use engineering drawings, retrofit installation diagrams, and aircraft Technical Orders publications.
• Possess knowledge of standard aircraft components, materials, composites, metals, fabrication practices, aviation hardware, integration and proper applications in design with a thorough understanding of the use and application of aircraft technical data.
• Wide experience of electrical/electronic repair and modifications.
• Depot level avionics repair and modification skills.
• Read blueprints and manufacture parts from drawings.

Ideally individuals will have the skills, experience and capability to

• Interpret flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems. Install electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, or soldering irons.
• A working knowledge of international regulation and policy for military and civil aviation as well as International Trade in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
• Good written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Strong knowledge of leadership qualities with proven interpersonal and team working skills.
• Computer literate and an experienced user of the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project).

Benefits:

These roles are part of a three year contract that has been re-awarded to M&E Global Resources as part of our programmes with a major US Engineering Prime Contract organisation. It is envisaged that individuals will be in country for the majority of the term of the programme but may occasionally travel to other locations covered by the contract.
