Apple Mac, Pc & Linux IT Network Administrator

Mac/PC and Linux IT Network Administrator and Infrastructure Specialist – prestigious Media Agency – Central London – SAN, VMWare, VoIP, Active Directory, iOS, Cisco, Juniper, Firewalls, Sarbanes oxley (SOX).

o Excellent IP network skills including managing switches, wireless networks, routing protocols and VoIP. Cisco or Juniper experience an advantage.
o Good knowledge of IT security with strong experience working with firewalls and exposure to IDS and IPS
o Excellent knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows server environments including Active Directory, DNS, file sharing protocols and web server configuration.
o Strong experience working in a virtualised environment (VMWare).
o Good knowledge of SAN technologies including iSCSI, NFS and fibre channel. Knowledge of Stornext based SANs also an advantage.
o Experience in managing an enterprise level e-mail system.
o Knowledge of Mac and IOS devices advantageous.

Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and Ubuntu Linux IT Network Administrator and Infrastructure Specialist required for dynamic global media agency in Central London. Reporting into a Senior Infrastructure Specialist, the IT Infrastructure Specialist and Mac/PC/Linux IT System Administrator will have an extensive knowledge of IP networks and multiplatform IT server environments. The second most senior member of a team of six, the Mac/PC and Linux Network Administrator and Infrastructure Specialist will provide IT support and development of the company’s network and Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and Ubuntu Linux IT server infrastructure with a high focus on end user service and IT security.

Responsibilities:

• IT Network
o Assist with maintaining and managing company firewalls
o Management of the company’s wired and wireless networks including problem resolution and handling change requests.
o Management of physical security systems that fall under the IT team’s remit.
• Servers
o Provisioning new IT systems and resolving any issues that may arise.
o Testing and rolling out updates to IT software with a particular emphasis on IT security updates.
o Ensuring that adequate backups of data are kept both on and off site and that backup and restore processes are regularly tested.
o Regularly checking logs and IT servers to ensure they are properly patched and dealing with any issues

• General
o On-call status after hours and weekends
o Help enforce sarbanes oxley (SOX) compliance
o Work to ensure the security of Company data and IT systems.
o Working on IT Apple Macintosh, Microsoft PC, Linux infrastructure and virtualisation projects in collaboration with the rest of the IT infrastructure team.
o Educating staff on good and secure working IT practices
o Work with the US team and collaborate on global initiatives and IT roll-outs
o Work with the IT infrastructure team to continually improve Company’s global infrastructure to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the business.

• Requirements:
