Our client is an award-winning pregnancy and parenting website. The site is one of a family of 13 international websites and the company is based in Norwich. They have an immediate vacancy for an Associate Editor to cover a 12 month maternity leave.
As associate editor a key part of your role will be to support the business development team by helping to develop custom packages of content for commercial partners and see these through from concept to going live on site. You will also identify opportunities for brands to engage with members through the online Community and social platforms. You will manage the talented blog and social media team and be responsible for the editorial development and growth of the Blog and social platforms. In addition you will liaise with business development team to support the development, creation and implementation of custom packages of content and community engagement for commercial partners
To be considered for this exciting role you will be an experienced editor with a minimum of two years working in digital media and be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to make the most of commercial opportunities while protecting editorial integrity. You will, of course, be social-media savvy and fully familiar with the use of online forums, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ etc. You will be well-organised and good at managing your own workload – completely unfazed by technical demands. You will be fully trained on the WordPress platform, social media management systems, and project management tools but a proven ability to learn new systems would be useful.
On a personal level you will have editorial experience; in particular copy writing and proof reading skills, good communication skills and a level head when decision making. You’ll understand how social platforms can benefit a brand and have experience of sales and editorial teams working together.
Our client is based in Norwich and is an equal opportunities employer. They offer 23 days’ holiday and a pro-rata base salary of around £30,000 pa. Hours of work can be flexible within reason and extend from 25-35 hours a week by negotiation.
