2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer

Code Red Associates (CRA) is a leading supplier of Permanent & Contract ICT resource to a variety of Blue Chip, SME & expanding organisations throughout the UK. We are currently recruiting for a customer focussed 2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer with a prestigious organisation with offices across London. They are specifically looking for a personable & self-sufficient individual, that is committed to customer satisfaction and with a ‘can do’, enthusiastic approach to their work.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the design, installation, optimisation and maintenance of Windows Servers and Operating Systems from 2003 – 2012 to include Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, WINS, DHCP, DFS & WSUS; creating and maintaining Citrix (XenApp) & VMware environments; manage Change Control, Application Delivery; & Disaster Recovery. You will monitor and maintain backups, server health and troubleshoot any issues. You will have excellent diagnosis skills, be able to turn your hand to most issues and be motivated by problem solving. Essential & desirable skills/experiences are outlined below.

Essential

* Recent and successful track record of 2nd & 3rd line support
* Deployment, installation & maintenance of Desktop & Server Systems – Windows Server 2003, 2008
* Active Directory & Group Policy
* Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007
* SharePoint administration
* Anti-virus & Endpoint Security
* Virtualisation Technologies – VMware, Citrix XenApp, &/or Hyper-V, etc
* PC/Laptop Hardware Support
* MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel primarily)
* Network routers, switches and firewalls
* IP Telephony including telephone handsets
* Customer focussed, good customer facing/telephone manner, positive, driven to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
* A Microsoft Certification

Highly Desirable

* SQL Server
* Technical Certifications such as MCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, MCSM, COMP TIA A+, CCNA, CCNP, CCENT, ITIL, MCTS, etc

Desirable

* Remote Access, VPN’s & Firewalls
* Disaster Recovery & High Availability
* Systems, Applications & Network Monitoring Services
* Data, Internet & Voice Circuits
* Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
* Database administration, scripting and development
* Project Management / PRINCE2 foundation certification
* IT Service Management / ITIL v3 Foundation certification
