Area Manager – Luxury Retail / Art Gallery – South East

Superb role to join this set of contemporary art galleries based in the S.East.

They have a number of galleries based in the S.East & your role will be primarily to drive sales & ensure the profitability of each gallery. This will involve days where you will be on the gallery floor selling & helping out, or covering illness/holiday, assisting with client viewings & home consultations, recruitment, helping to manage the client database (this is an important business tool for them), assisting with artist events (from set-up to post event feedback). Your role is an inspirational one where you need to motivate staff on a daily basis to ensure maximum output. They do a lot of proactive marketing/networking as well as reacting to footfall so your ability to motivate on this side is essential.

You should ideally come from a Luxury retail background where you/your teams are used to working to sales targets. Everyone in this business works to personal targets so everyone is accountable for what they produce! If you’re not from a luxury background, a sales oriented background is essential.

A background in art is not essential however a willingness to learn is imperative. You should have some creative flair & some affection for art as this is essentially where your enthusiasm for the product will shine through.

You must have a driving license & be willing to travel extensively in the S.East. As it’s a retailer, you should be very willing to work lots of weekends, & some evenings on occasions.

A vibrant high energy personality is KEY!

Salary is c.£42K + up to £12K bonus so c.£54K OTE. You will benefit from expenses for travel etc
