Accounts Assistant

If you have an interest in accountancy, a clear understanding of office environments, great communication and interpersonal skills and are reasonably computer literate (MS Excel), you might consider working as an accounts assistant.

We are currently recruiting for a self-motivated Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Department on permanent basis. We are seeking a confident, approachable individual who can work both independently and as part of a small team. The role of Accounts Assistant will be varied and busy, and duties will include:

Responsibilities:

• Sales ledger account reconciliations

• Preparing and posting management accounts journals

• Posting bank transactions

• Reviewing and completing staff expenses

• Maintaining the fixed asset register and calculating the monthly depreciation

• Year-end balance sheet reconciliations

• Accounts administration

Person Specification:

• Experience in a fast-paced, accounting environment and the ability to prioritise high work volumes
• IT literate with previous exposure to MS Excel is required while Sage is desirable
• Experience in the control and maintenance of a Sales Ledger
• Confident in manipulating large volumes of data
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and flexible attitude to work
• Willingness to embrace and develop new skills
• Ability to prioritise and organise workloads to meet deadlines
• Good problem solving, organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

This position is based in City Centre with an imminent relocation to Spitfire Business Park, Erdington.
