We are currently recruiting for a Global Telecommunications Company. They are looking for a Business Development Associate to join their team.
Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 plus commission and benefits.
The function of this team is customer acquisition; we then pass the customers onto our account management team. The purpose of this role is to provide demand generation support for the business development team. This role could lead to a step up into the role of a Business Development Manager for the right candidate.
Responsible for:
• Profiling prospects through data gathering including contact gathering using various channels
• Supporting sales and marketing lead events by increasing attendance
• Provide support for electronic direct mails campaigns
• Make initial contact with prospects to qualify their fit for the Client
• Book meetings for Business Development Managers
Day to Day Tasks:
• Profiling prospects
• Targeting prospects as part of on-going Sales & Marketing Campaigns
• Generating leads for Business Development Executives through cold calling
• Identifying and qualifying potential simple sales opportunities
• Dealing with any inbound enquiries and either direct requests to other departments or handling queries directly
• Preparing reporting as required
• Dealing with emails and other general administration
• Updating the customer database
Experience and Qualifications:
• Intelligent, able to learn quickly and adapt to a fast moving environment (e.g. Graduate or College leaver)
• Previous sales experience gained in a high pressure, volume sales environment preferably over the telephone
• An excellent telephone manner – polite, engaging, empathetic, concise, coherent
• Able to establish an immediate rapport, be persuasive and gain the other persons commitment to spend time discussing their requirements
• A strong, confident personality that can take ‘knocks’, deal with rejection, remain positive and move on to the next call
• The ability to identify and qualify sales opportunities through listening, asking broad open questions and matching the prospective client’s communication needs to the Clients product set
• The skills to deal with and overcome customers objections
• Ability to work in a high pressure environment
• Ability to work as part of a team, treating colleagues with respect and consideration
