Applications Support Engineer (C#.NET, SQL) – Luton

We are a market leading organisation based in Luton, with an excellent reputation in our industry. As an international company we offer a world class software service to our customers and we are now looking to add further members to our already talented Support and Development Team, where you will work with one of our flag-ship products and enjoy varied and challenging work.

The Application / Software Support Engineer (Bespoke software) will be a critical part of the 2nd line team offering comprehensive, timely and accurate responses to a variety of complex software requests. You should ideally be working in a software environment (ideally with bespoke products) with experience in C#.NET and SQL server. Additional exp with Java and JavaScript would be a bonus.

As an Application Support Engineer (C#.NET, SQL) your responsibilities will be:

• Identifying and analysing any bugs in the code, and provide all basic code fixes at 2nd level

• Set time-scale expectations accordingly

• Escalate issues as required through to the core development team on identification of any defects that cannot be resolved at 2nd line

• Assist with testing of fixes and new releases of software to make sure that they are ready for release

Experience required for the 2nd Line Application Support Engineer (C#.NET, SQL) role:

• Experience of working in a customer support environment (preferably with bespoke products), at a minimum of 2nd line

• Diagnostic skills including the proven ability to troubleshoot and analyse technical issues and bugs, with the ability to code at basic level

• Strong experience in either C#.NET as well as SQL

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service

• Self-motivation and pro-active attitude

• Flexibility, with the ability capacity to handle multiple tasks at any one time

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Salary: £42,000 – £50,400 (dependant on experience) + benefits
