2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer

2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer is required for a contract by highly vibrant services organisation based in East Croydon. The 2nd line infrastructure team provides the technical skills for the operation, support and maintenance of the group IT infrastructure and application elements such as messaging, server and desktop management and mobile technologies. Working with the service desk, project teams and external vendors is a key responsibility.

This role will be responsible for supporting the infrastructure environment and client services ensuring systems comply with the IT strategy, are monitored, secured, supported, maintained and perform in accordance with agreed SLA’s.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd line application support to all sites. Ensure incident escalations are dealt with in a timely fashion, and ITIL processes such as Change Control are being adhered to.
• Document all Infrastructure applications and services, ensuring they are well maintained and that each has a valid & up to date roadmap at all times.
• Ensure SLA’s escalated by the Help Desk are resolved within the agreed timescales making sure that all closure information is correctly recorded. Make the team manager aware of any problems that have breached their SLA fix time.

• Provide highly specialised technical expertise to support and maintain multiple environments.
• Partner with the various technical teams in to develop and implement solutions.
• Work with 3rd party vendors, ensure SLA\OLA and KPI’s are set, reviewed and met
• Conduct complex technical analysis to resolve system problems, ensuring procedures arid processes are followed / enhanced for system changes.

Key Requirements:

• Exceptional technician, capable of taking ownership for critical infrastructure systems.
• 2 years’ experience working in a busy 2nd line support team.
