1st/2nd Line Technical Support Engineer : Field Based : Global Trading co.

Salary: up to c.£33,600 per annum + Benefits
Global Leader within the Finance/Shipbroking Sector has an exciting an excellent opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join their team in London.
The purpose of this role is to provide support across all of the UK offices assisting with hardware and software problems via phone, email and in person. The role will be based in London 4 days a week and Ipswich 1 day a week.
About the Role:
- Provide 1st/2nd line technical support
- Support users remotely as well as conduct visits to sites across UK
- Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
- Take ownership of user problems, pro-active when dealing with user issues
- Log all calls on the call logging system
- Respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems
- Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
- Escalate more complex calls to the relevant IT Support member
- Carry out daily client systems checks, reporting to IT Line Manager
- Produce daily reports on work done and hold weekly meetings with IT Line Manager
- Attend Ipswich office once a week and on regular occasions when required
About You:
- Knowledge of remote working technology
- Previous Helpdesk (telephone support) experience
- Excellent telephone manner
- Experience/understanding of Sage
- Extensive knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Usage
- Microsoft Exchange experience
- Good working knowledge of Citrix
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems (XP/Win7) and MS Office (2010/13)
- TCP/IP experience and basic networking
- Full understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
- ‘Hands on’ approach and a willingness to learn
- Flexible, pro-active approach as a proven self-starter
- Team player who can work under guidelines to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to work on individual projects against set targets
- Experience in the Finance/Shipping industry preferred
Full driving license and willingness to travel across UK sites is essential
