Account Director – Events agency – West Midlands

My client is a well-established events agency that is seeking an experienced Snr Account Manager/Director to join their merry band. To be considered for this role you need to be from an Events Agency background.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure a consistent high service values and quality approach applied to your projects proving ROI wherever possible.
  • Resource Management – be responsible for job profitability and effective resource management to maximise margin achieved across the year from you clients
  • Project Management – including brief taking, budget control and reconciliation including working to agreed margin targets, briefing internal departments, inspiring creativity, quote preparation, client and supplier liaison
  • Event Production: Overall responsibility for all areas of event production including content development, technical and logistics
  • Client Management – maintaining high level input on specific key high profile accounts, overseeing the production process, attending client meetings as necessary, communicating at levels up to and including Board level
  • Business development – drive strategy and plans by client to achieve business development targets, reporting on plans at Account Management meetings
  • New Business – attending new business meetings and networking events as required
  • Pitching – involvement in putting together pitches, ensuring they meet the client requirements and are in line with our brand, being on pitch team as and when necessary

Person Specification

  • A substantial track record of at least 6-7 years event production experience working on a variety of productions and budgets
  • Experience at a senior level (with varied client experince) in a similar agency environment and a proven ability to grow accounts and manage teams
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of internal comms and how this fits with the client requirements – you will ideally have had an internal comms role previously either in an agency or in-house
  • You will live and breathe and be driven by content, you will get strategy and have track record in bringing it alive and driving engagement
  • Experience in video and other digital solutions also expected
  • Good leadership and strategic skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills – ability to present and communicate to all levels including Board level
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines whilst delivering numerous events on time and on budget
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated
  • Flexibility is an essential, travel is likely to be a large part of the role as we work nationally and internationally
