Manufacturing Health & Safety Officer

Our Client, an established and well respected engineering/aerospace business in East Lancashire, is looking to strengthen its team by recruiting a Health and Safety Officer. This role is to develop, monitor and implement the Organisations Health & Safety policy, whilst providing advice, guidance and direction to all staff and managers enabling them to undertake their Health & Safety environmental responsibilities.

Job Description

• Ensure the Company is compliant with Heath & Safety legislation and best practice, and to reduce or prevent hazards, dangers and accidents.
• Ensure successful implementation of the Health & Safety practices within appropriate Safety, Quality, Cost, Time line and always supportive of other personnel.
• Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding all related projects.
• Design and deliver H&S training programmes, with the support of the group Company where relevant.
• Prepare monthly updates and other timely reports to reflect operating effectiveness and proactive risk management
• Ensure compliance with our NADCAP AS9100 and ISO18001 accreditation through promotion of sustainability across the teams.
• Conduct drills and evacuations to ensure all staff and visitors alike are aware of the process and act accordingly.
• Regularly undertake workplace assessments and investigations to determine level of risk, identifying potential hazards, assess the risks and report potential hazards offering supportive corrective recommendations.Person Specification

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a Health and Safety or Manufacturing discipline
• Demonstrable working knowledge and experience of managing/advising on Health & Safety within a medium to large engineering/manufacturing industrious organisation
• IOSHH/NEBOSH certificate
• Experience in designing and delivering H&S Training
