Accounting and Business Advisory Supervisor , Salary £40,800 to £45,600
This role will suit an experienced accountant with accounts preparation who has worked within an accountancy practice in the past and who is a part qualified or qualified accountant seeking a supervisory role.
As an Accounting Supervisor you will be dealing with a wide range of duties as detailed below:
To provide delivery and supervision of each assignment in an efficient and effective manner, and to help ensure that clients receive a quality service in all respects.
Brief Job description
• To ensure that all work is completed to the highest standard within budget, and to discuss all relevant points arising with the BSD Manager immediately, particularly in relation to any anticipated overruns.
• To liaise with the client appropriately and to practice the principles of excellent service at all times, acting as a day to day point of contact for the client. Build strong relationships with client staff.
• To brief staff on the client’s business and the pre assignment instructions, to supervise and take responsibility for the completion of work and to deliver ‘on the job training’ where necessary.
• To ensure that appropriate liaison takes place with all other departments and that all potential client needs are identified and served accordingly, ensuring that both internal and external deadlines are met
• To review work completed by junior staff for accuracy and completeness and to perform written job appraisal feedback.
• To perform the firms review and completion procedures, to attend the final meeting with the client and to ensure that the client subsequently receives the final accounts and commercial management letter on a timely basis.
• To take responsibility for maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and to fulfil the Institutes CPD requirements.
Key Skills
• ACA/ACCA part or fully qualified
• Strong technical skills – ability to read and interpret complex accounting standards and apply them to commercial situations (IFRS and UK Gaap)
• Ability to prepare complex consolidations, including very large, multi-currency entities.
• Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and to add value
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Well developed people skills to relate to clients and colleagues
• Good organisational and time management skills
