Applications Developer

My client is a Global market leading service provider with European head quarters in Gloucester. I am seeking a talented Admin / Developer to work within our Regional Reporting and Development team. This is your opportunity to work for one of the largest Global Conferencing companies.

The successful candidate will be supporting / developing applications within an IIS environment and SQL/Oracle/Informix database systems. In most cases you will be working in an agile environment, with short lead-times and with your applications moving quickly between development/test to our production environment.

Purpose & Scope

• MS SQL Server Administration / Optimisation
• Application development
• A key member interacting with aspects of Reporting and Development

Main Responsibilities

• Database Administration SQL Server 2000 – 2008 R2
• Troubleshooting and support – Service pack upgrades
• Proactive monitoring – System Optimisation – Performance tuning – Indexing
• ETL / SSIS / Backup / Restore/ Storage management
• Security
• Application Development for web and client
• RDBMS database design/development

Person Specification

• Ideally MS SQL 2008 – Admin certified
• Must demonstrate a good working knowledge of SQL 2008 including:
• ETL – Backup/Restore
• SSIS/SSRS/SSAS development
• Index maintenance/optimization & Storage management
• VLDB Performance tuning – Troubleshooting and support
• Experience in Application Development for web and client including – RDBMS database design/development
• Debugging and troubleshooting, VB.Net, ASP.Net, Javascript/JQuery, CSS
• HTML
