3rd Line SeniorTechnician

Job Summary

To work alongside a highly experienced team of 3rd line engineers providing IT support to my clients SME client base. This will involve a combination of telephone, remote desktop and onsite support. The Senior Technician will also be tasked with IT project work, which may include, but will not be limited to, hardware / software rollout, disaster recovery planning,
email migrations, network design and implementation.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Working on the Helpdesk dealing with 1st/ 2nd /
    3rd line issues
  • Server build, set-up and maintenance
  • Undertaking IT projects for both Priority One
    and our clients
  • Conducting research into emerging technologies
  • Conducting maintenance tasks for existing
    systems
  • On-call support duties (1 week out of every 6)

Specification

  • On call: 1 week out of every 6 weeks
  • Operational support: 70%
  • Project work: 30% (After 3 months training)

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Minimum of 4 years commercial IT support role
  • 2nd/3rd line support experience in 50+ user environment

Desirable

  • In-house IT Support experience
    5 years + commercial experience

Essential

  • Active Directory 2003, 2008
  • Windows 2003 , 2008
    Exchange 2003, 2007
  • Windows XP, 7
  • VMware ESX any version

Desirable

  • General firewall and router experience
  • Industry certifications
  • Exchange 2010
  • Apple Mac
