1:1 Teaching Assistant

This school year has seen a huge surge in demand for 1:1 support, with children falling behind academically following lockdown, or suffering difficult times in their home environment, the need for additional support is higher than ever. With that in mind, Academics are eager to hear from Teaching Assistants who have experience of working with children with additional needs.

A Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning / Early Years Educator or similar would be a bonus but is not a pre-requisitie, and the same can be said for a Team Teach or similar qualification

Excellent behaviour management and varied de-escalation strategies will be a must, and you will have varied techniques to ensure the engagement of the child and to help them to progress rowards expected attainment levels.

Ideally our 1:1 Teaching Assistant will have experience with any of the following:

• SEMH
• EBSD and challenging behaviour,
• ASD,
• Learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, global delay)
• Physical difficulties.
