Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA – Office Based
Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)

About the role…
We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join our UK Finance team! In this role you will be required to manage and own the effective cost accounting for the Cooplands manufacturing business whilst also developing a cost model, reporting and enhancing the businesses understanding of the site level costs across the estate.
Reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager, you will provide commercial support within the Country Finance team, and act as a Finance point of contact for Operational and Senior Management teams. Your role will also involve identifying possible business opportunities which could improve bottom line performance via sales generation, margin improvement and cost reduction.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory cost, quantity, and value to ensure accuracy of reporting in line with accounting standards.
- Produce and maintain inventory reconciliations.
- Develop a model to determine the cost of manufacturing perishable products, including all relevant factors such as direct and indirect costs, labour, materials, and overhead.
- Maintain and improve cost tracking to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations, FRS102 and IFRS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements, including costs management system improvements.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management, highlighting key cost-related metrics and insights.
- Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for selected entities and business streams.
- Preparation of complex weekly and monthly commercial reports / dashboards.
- Analysis of the profitability by site and by income stream.
- Support in the group wide budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Point of contact for commercial reporting and variance analysis
- Understand the businesses KPIs and work with the commercial finance lead to drive these.
- Variance and trend analysis for company performance.
- Work with management accounts team to understand monthly performance by site.
- Review of P&L on a regular basis to forecast key trends and fluctuation.
- Support the senior members of the team to drive decision making.
- Other ad-hoc tasks and projects.
Candidate Requirements
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Finalist or equivalent.
- Proven experience in cost accounting or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or
- production-oriented environment.
- Self sufficient, hard working and driven individual with the ability to work to within an ever changing, fast paced environment.
- Good Knowledge of IFRS/ Local GAAP.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage projects and tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Understanding of accounting software and system knowledge to create specific reports (SAP).
- Works well within a team as well as cross-functionally with all departments.
- Flexibility to travel for occasional meetings around the UK.
