Russell Taylor Group are pleased to be working on behalf of our well know client based in Kentish Town.
They have a vacancy for a Full Time Temporary Accounts Assistants with a view to becoming Permanent.

Monday to Friday
08.00am to 17.00pm
Temporary Hourly rate : £13.50
Salary : Full Time Permanent £28k

They are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. The Accounts Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records related to purchases and expenditures within the organisation. This role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Invoice Processing: Receive and review incoming invoices, verifying accuracy and completeness of information. Code and enter invoices into the financial system, ensuring proper allocation to relevant accounts and cost centres. Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes to validate the accuracy of transactions.

Payment Management: Prepare payment runs in accordance with established payment terms and schedules. Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies or issues.

Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding balances.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records, including contact information and payment terms.

Supplier Communication: Respond to supplier inquiries, resolve payment-related issues, and maintain positive supplier relationships.

Data Entry: Enter purchase-related data into the accounting system with a high level of accuracy.

Expense Reporting: Preparation of Staff & Contractor weekly expenses and assist in financial statements as needed.

Month End: Assist in month-end closing processes by providing necessary reports and reconciliations.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

Support: Collaborate with the finance team to provide support during audits and financial reporting processes.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the Accounts Assistant function.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. However, a relevant degree or certification in finance, accounting, or a related field is often preferred and can enhance the candidate’s qualifications.
Experience: Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a finance or accounting environment, is advantageous.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g. Sage 200) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Numerical Aptitude: Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate data entry, reconciliation, and calculations.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing and verifying financial documents and transactions.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Problem Solving: Resourceful in identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
Team Player: Collaborative attitude to work effectively within a team and support the finance department’s goals.
Integrity: Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical behaviour in handling financial information.
