Used Car Sales Executive

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year

FG Barnes is a family-owned company established since 1899 and has locations in Guildford, Maidstone, Canterbury & Shoreham representing Vauxhall, Nissan, MG and DAF Brands, as well as a used car supermarket, Car Save Group.

Further to the successful opening of our independent used car operation in Guildford, we will very shortly be opening a further stand-alone used car centre in Maidstone, under our Car Save Group brand where we are requiring an experienced Car Sales Executive.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a successful track record ideally in used car sales; however applications are also welcomed from successful new Car Sales Executives.

Remuneration will be via an attractive basic salary accompanied by a clear and transparent commission / bonus structure which will be uncapped.

This role will entail the following:

• Consults with customers to discover and understand their needs
• Address customer hesitation and resistance
• Calculate cost allowances, fees, taxes, and down payments to arrive at the price of a vehicle
• Work with the Sales Manager in completing sales contracts that meet customers’ needs
• Ensure that the details of all vehicle transactions are accurately documented and registered
• Conduct accurate and fair used vehicle valuation
• Maintain good relationships with customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations
• Network by asking for referrals and following up on prospects
• Ensure that the showroom and forecourt stock are clean and serviceable for demonstration to prospective customers
• Determine personal sales goals and the methods by which those goals will be met in conjunction with the Sales Manager
• Work systematically to handle the many administrative requirements of the position (e.g., paperwork, plans, reports, and the maintenance of a card file on prospects and owners)
• Participate in planning sales campaigns and promotions to maximise sales
• Ensure the maintenance of tools, equipment, and other materials
• Perform other reasonable activities from time to time
