Business Finance Controller

My client is a leading international academic publishing company who are currently recruiting a Business Finance Controller to report into the Finance Director of their Books division.

Overall this role is responsible for:
• Management of the Books Finance Team
• Key business finance contact for global shared service centres (SSCs)
• Budgeting, forecasting and business reporting
• Business finance projects (including acquisition integration and systems development)

The key Accountabilities will be:
• Review of monthly P&Ls and follow-up on variances to budget, forecast and prior year
• Review of balance sheet accounts with feedback to the Business Partner Accounts Teams
• Timely submission of budgets and forecasts
• Ensure the recording of financial data meets the needs of the business and that GL coding is fit for purpose
• Ensure the consistency of reporting by the Books Finance Team
• Preparation and review of the monthly Executive Finance Pack
• Assist with the integration of acquisitions, working with the business and the various SSCs
• Advise on and communication of finance procedures to the business

Knowledge & Experience Required
• Qualified accountant
• Staff management experience
• Experienced at communicating at all levels and across functions
• Excellent Excel spread sheet and Finance system skills
• Experience in a global organisation would be an advantage

In return my client is offering a salary of £66,000 – £78,000, up to 10% bonus earned on personal performance, a full benefits package and 25 days’ holiday.
