Cubiq Recruitment is representing an internationally renowned engineering company which develop a range of world class vehicle test and robotic measurement products, mostly for testing chassis and safety systems. Their many automotive clients include Ford, Toyota, Daimler, GM, Volkswagen, BMW and Honda.
Due to continued success we are looking for a creative, degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with 2-3 years’ experience, or an exceptional graduate, who enjoys conceptual design and has good analytical skills and experience of CAD. Experience of FEA and/or other analytical software packages (e.g. Matlab, ADAMS) would be an advantage.
The role will involve designing new products and updating existing ones including:
Preparing concept designs
Liaising with internal and external sources to assess cost and manufacturing feasibility
Creating detail drawings & general arrangement drawings
Preparing supporting documentation such as engineering calculations, test reports, risk assessments etc.
Getting involved in the assembly and testing of new designsThis position offers a real challenge to get it right first time and see your designs progress through to manufacture. A background in the Automotive Sector would be of help, although your creativity and determination to succeed are more important factors.
