Summary

An urgent role has arisen for a Senior Automation Engineer to join a major Pharmaceutical packaging organisation in Havant, Hampshire. You will be responsible for the delivery of controls and automation across plant modification and improvement projects within Facilities and Operations environments. This is a contract for 6 months initially, but with a very good chance of extension beyond this.

Our client is a global, market leading pharmaceutical organisation with extensive operations in the UK and Europe. The Havant site is primarily responsible for the packaging and distribution of licensed and clinical trial materials. A household and CV enhancing name!

The Role

Reporting to the Electrical & Compliance Manager, you will undertake a wide range of responsibilities to support automated systems and assets that are essential for the packaging, storage and distribution of high-value drug products. You will be directly responsible for the repair, modification, maintenance and continuous improvement of automated systems and equipment. You will plan, schedule and co-ordinate the activities of a small Automation team, and will provide technical expertise to support the design, selection, installation and commissioning of automated operational and infrastructure systems.

Full details will be provided on application. This is a contract for 6 months but there is a strong chance it will be extended beyond this. You will receive a pay rate that is equivalent to a salary of up to £48,000”, depending on your level of experience.

We are seeking an experienced Engineer who has worked within a regulated environment (preferably a GMP Pharmaceutical packaging or manufacturing setting) and has a strong background in automation technology. You will ideally have a degree or similar qualification, together with knowledge of PLC terminology, specifically Siemens products (PCS7, S7 and WinCC). You must offer comprehensive experience in the design, installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of automation systems in a regulated production environment. This should include SCADA systems, robotics, PLCs and local area networking techniques.

You will ideally live close to Havant or be willing to move there at short notice for the duration of this contract.
