Graduate Accounts Assistant (includes ACCA Training)

Salary = £26,000 + Bonus

Our client is a specialist translation company based in Central London.

They are looking to employ a candidate who wants to qualify as an accountant. You will report to the Finance Manager and in future you can expect to take over the day to day running of the accounts department.

Our client will pay for tuition and exam fees. They will also pay for the candidate’s ACCA membership fees.

Requirements

A 2.1 or 1st class degree from a UK University in Accountancy or a Finance related subject.

Job role:

The role will include the following tasks:-

Bookkeeping

Sales processing

1 Post all invoices to the sales ledger, update the Invoicing database.
2 Post all cash receipts to the sales ledger, update the credit control database.
3 Bank cash receipts.
4 Reconcile the sales ledger to the Invoicing database.

Purchase processing

1 Post all overhead invoices to the purchase ledger.
2 Post all cost of sales invoices to the purchase ledger and update the Jobs database.
3 Prepare the monthly payment schedules.
4 Post all expense claims.

Cash book

1 Complete the monthly bank reconciliation.
2 Maintain the petty cash.

VAT

Correctly account for VAT on inputs and outputs.

1 Assist in the preparation of the quarterly VAT return.
2 Assist in the preparation of the quarterly EC sales list.

Management reporting

1 Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
2 Assist in the preparation of the quarterly balance sheet review.

Statutory and Fiscal reporting

1 Assist in the preparation of the annual statutory accounts for all Group Companies.
2 Assist in the preparation of the draft tax computations for submission to the Company Tax Accountants.

Administrative support services

Filing

1 File and maintain the cost of sales and overhead invoices.
2 File and maintain client remittance advices.
3 File and maintain expense claims.
