Trainee Project Estimator / Junior Project Manager – Construction

An expanding SME in the construction sector that specialise with energy efficient solutions offer their clients services such as the design, supply and installation of high performance timber and timber composite fenestration and glazing systems as well as Photo-Voltaic solar arrays and insulation systems. They are currently looking for a graduate or skilled installer to join the business at an entry level to assist with the estimating and delivery of projects.

This trainee estimator / junior project manager position would suit a graduate of Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Architectural Studies or Architectural Technology. The role would also suit a carpenter / joiner installation engineer that has experience working on construction projects for fenestration, timber windows and glazing installations coupled with commercial aptitude and awareness.

Trainee Estimator / Junior Project Manager Overview:

Review drawings, specifications and documents to ensure sufficient information is available to both log and quote a project liaising by phone and email with customers or suppliers.
Assist with the preparation and issuing of estimates and quotations, ensuring correct specification of products and systems.
Assist with site surveys, take-offs, site work plans, snagging lists, handover documentation.
Once the project is secured place orders with suppliers, highlighting programme schedules and lead times to contractors and customers such as booking the installation commencement date.

Trainee Estimator / Junior Project Manager Requirements:

Confident communication skills with high levels of written and oral English.
Excellent numeracy skills
Ability to read and understand construction drawings, take measurements, calculate areas
Understanding of construction processes and energy efficiency principles
Proficient in Microsoft excel and Word
Living within easy commuting distance of our offices in N16.

Trainee Estimator / Junior Project Manager Remuneration:

Salary £26,400 – £33,600
