Machine Shop Supervisor

I am currently seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor who is looking for an exciting new opportunity which will be both challenging and rewarding.

This role is working for an established engineering company based in Nottingham.

Our client designs, manufactures and supplies a large variety of high quality components to both UK and overseas markets.

Candidates must have previous supervisory or team leader experience within a machine shop environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall supervision of the afternoon shift. This will include the effective running of the turning and milling cells and activities associated with the machine shop. You will be expected to man machines and ensure efficient and effective multi manning of CNC machines within both cells. Responsibility for factory security and staff safety will also be expected.

The candidate must;
– Be fully competent in a precision machine shop environment, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
– Skilled CNC Machining Experience
– Previous experience of using FANUC/Heidenhain/ Siemens Controls
– Previous experience of programming from scratch/ engineering drawings
– Work to Tight Tolerances/ High Standards

Previous background of working on Aerospace or Precision Engineering work would be an advantage.

Ideally the candidate will have a time served apprentice or NVQ equivalent however if you have more than 5 years experience then you will also be considered.

Shifts: afternoons
37 hours per week
Monday- Thursday 2:00pm – 10:30 p.m. (1/2 hr break)
Friday – 10:30a.m. – 3:30 pm (no break)
Overtime available at X1.5 after 37 hours

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000p.a
Position: Permanent
