Functional Skills Tutor

We are currently recruiting for our client for a Functional Skills Tutor to work between their Sunderland and Newcastle centres. This business operates through a network of 19 centres across the UK, offering paid apprenticeships for school leavers and bespoke training programmes for unemployed adults.

JOB TITLE: Functional Skills Tutor.

LOCATION: Sunderland/Newcastle (combined)

SALARY: £26,400per annum.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Functional Skills Tutor for an immediate start.

The post holder will be responsible for providing functional skills related programmes across the region, which comprises of a number of training centres, namely the Sunderland and Gosforth centres. The role will involve establishing and maintaining effective teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance within the region. Ensuring that sufficient resources are in place and that an effective and robust delivery comprising of initial diagnostic assessment of all learners’ learning and development needs.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Suitable candidates will need to posses as a minimum Level 2 in Maths and Literacy and CTLLS. Candidates will also require a sound understanding of current functional skills framework structures and requirements. Sound knowledge and understanding of initial and diagnostic assessment processes and experience supporting functional skills accreditation applications and quality assurance processes would be beneficial.

HOURS: The hours of work for this role are 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 15:30 on Fridays.
