Salary: £26,000per year+ Overtime
Shifts: Varying Shift Pattern
Due to our continued growth at Poundworld Retail Ltd we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner/ Team Leader to join our busy Transport Department at our main Distribution Centre in Normanton, Wakefield. The purpose of this role is to ensure that all transport related planning and administration is completed as per the requirements of our transport operation.
Key Responsibilities
*
Route planning within the UK using Ortec transport planning system.
*
Ensure all store deliveries and backhaul collections are met.
*
Communicate schedules to drivers including all necessary delivery/collection information.
*
Communicate with third party sub-contractors.
*
Process departmental documentation and driver’s paperwork.
*
Respond to telephone calls in a timely manner by providing a friendly and supportive service.
*
Providing administration support to the Shift Manager.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be:
*
A good team player
*
Hold excellent communication skills.
*
Able to analyse and resolve problems.
*
Hold good IT skills with experience of using Excel and Word.
*
Previous scheduling and route planning experience with a good geographical knowledge of the UK.
*
Experience of multiple vehicle planning for over 40 vehicles.
