Head of Operations

Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year

My client based near Halifax in Calderdale are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join their busy company.
Reporting to the Operations Director the role of the Head of Operations will be to deliver national annual business unit growth through customer service and operational efficiency. The job requires a balance of excellent service levels with profitable operational achievements.
The ideal candidate will be from specialist vehicle, plant industry.
The following is a brief description of some of the roles undertakings as Head of Operations:
* The delivery of annual budget targets
* Selection, induction and development of highly customer focused Service and Parts management teams
* Providing excellent Customer Service standards to all UK customers.
* Have a clear understanding and leadership of the rapid change required to grow the business model.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and business ethics requirements.
* Help lead national business efficiencies and development through personal engagement and motivation of Service and Parts management teams.
* Personally lead by example
* Ensuring excellent compliance with national policies and inter company opportunities.
* Identify and develop potential markets that relate to the initial geographical placing of the business, expanding this as the network grows.
You must have the following experience to be considered for the Head of Operations role:
* Min of 5 years’ experience within a Service, Transport, Fleet Compliance or similar sector
* Min of 5 years’ experience in a Management or Team Leader role.
* 3 years or more experience as a Service, Transport, Fleet Compliance or similar sector Manager.
* You must have appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of legislative and DVSA fleet compliance requirements.
* Full valid UK Driving Licence.
* Relevant experience within the asset rental industry mainly working with large hire fleets.
* Appropriate level of knowledge of iSeries AS400
* Extensive knowledge of the commercial vehicle industry, dealer networks and dealer warranty arrangements, parts procurement stock holding logistics.
* Proven experience of delivering an agreed quarterly targets
* Strong leadership of all aspects of Service & Parts functions
* Demonstrable skills and ability to provide a customer focussed service, responding proactively and positively to challenges, keeping customers informed and managing expectations appropriately.
* Experience of leading and training members within a Service, Transport, Fleet Compliance, Field Service or similar sector, able to adapt and maintain performance in times of extreme change.
* Good financial business understanding
* Strong administrative abilities
* Proven track record in a customer facing role
* Experience within any of the following equipment rental industries, Automotive, industrial equipment or distribution.
* Proven track record of managing a small multi functional team of people,
* Good communicator who is capable of building trust and solid working relationships at all levels.
* Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
* Hands on can do management style, self starter with analytical ability.
You must hold the relevant experience and live within a commutable distance of Halifax in Calderdale to be considered for this role.
Base salary: £60,000 – £72,000with a bonus structure that ensures a large earning potential.
