Role Summary
We are looking for hardworking and reliable multi drop delivery drivers who are able to work on their own initiative in various locations around the country.
We are actively recruiting for our depots in Bow, Croydon, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool Leeds and Wednesbury.
• The contract is ongoing throughout the year.
• Duties will involve multi drop parcel home and business deliveries.
• An understanding of multi drop manifests, and hand held PDA’s advantageous
• Vans, Fuel Cards and uniform provided
• Specific and extensive training will be provided.
• Saturdays are compulsory with a day off in the week
• Working on a self employed basis
Essential Qualifying Criteria:
• Satisfactory CRB check at basic disclosure level/satisfactory 7 year background checks/Eligibility to work in the UK
• Maximum 6 points on license
• All candidates must satisfy a drugs and alcohol test
• Experience preferred but not essential in a UK driving role with a good working knowledge of the Working time directive and drivers hours is required
Key Tasks
• Comply with the working time directive and drivers hrs at all times
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills and comply with all relevant SOP’s so that customer requirements are understood, ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner and that you arrive at the customer premises well presented at all times and that you are polite, courteous and helpful. There are NO collections. Work collaboratively with fellow colleagues, supervisors and managers being supportive, sharing the work load, obtaining support where required and being flexible to changing circumstances.
• Deliver parcels liaising with customer and in-house transport department on any delays, and changes to planned route including unplanned stops and parking. Ensure paperwork is accurate and POD’s are signed and legible, dated, timed and returned to the office
• Vehicle Defects Complete defects reports daily ensuring that are accurate and any defects reported. Check vehicles are carrying correct equipment, including tools, driver’s packs, bulb kits & fire extinguishers.
• Loading and unloading vehicles Ensure vehicles are loaded and secured correctly, distributing the load suitably to the vehicle whilst ensuring H&S guidelines are adhered to.
• Ensure 2 forms of correct and relevant ID is on person at all times and displayed correctly
• Ensure full uniform is clean and presentable at all times and PPE is worn as required
• Ensure vehicles are kept clean
• Ensure personal hygiene is of a good, high standard as you will be working in close proximity with colleagues and customers.
• The hours vary from depot to depot
• Start times between 07.30 – 09.30am with 91/2 hours driving time allowed
