HR Assistant

We are looking for a HR Assistant to join our People Services Team, to support the HR Department and ensure the smooth day to day running of the function.
We are a busy and fast paced department with no two days being the same. Our HR Assistants manage employee life cycle events, maintain employee records on our HR System (workday) and ensure all information is filed correctly and accurately in HR files. The role would suit someone who has worked in a HR Department before and has proven data entry and administrative experience.
Main role and responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining employee records and files including processing variation to contracts when required
- Carry out HR administration processes, preparing letters and documents in line with legislation and company policies and procedures
- Act as the initial point of contact for all queries into HR, both face to face and through the HR mailbox, responding and managing resolution
- Applying for pre-employment references and checks in line with Company policy
- Archiving HR files / information and ensuring we comply with appropriate GDPR legislation
- Producing MI and ad hoc reports
- General administrative tasks in order to assist the smooth running of the department
- Supporting the smooth running of payroll
- Maintain and record performance of recruitment activity
Key Skills and Experience we look for:
- Experience in a Human Resources department
- Proven data entry and administrative experience, with an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Can demonstrate excellent effective communication at all levels
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- IT Skills including a good understanding of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
- Proactive/Self Motivated
- Discreet and diplomatic
- Experience of working on HR systems especially Workday would be desirable.
