THE ROLE
Design and development of new and existing products to ensure cost effective solutions to meet customer, regulatory and manufacturing requirements as defined in the design brief.
As a Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
Product design and continuous improvement of products to suit both internal and external manufacturing processes.
Support Senior Engineers through product lifecycle from concept to launch including ideas, design brief, concept, prototype, feasibility, APQP, detail design, validation, and launch.
Generate manufacturing drawings and BoMs based on standard design scheme for production of bespoke AHU range.
Maintain drawings and electronic documents relating to new products, Cost improvement projects and engineering change control systems.
Transfer of existing CAD data to 3D Solidworks software.
Working with development team and involvement in prototype build and testing to ensure reliable and safe operation.
Support other elements to achieve departmental goals.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Produce component and assembly drawings using 3D and 2D CAD systems ensuring information provided is accurate and complete.
Investigate new technologies and manufacturing processes to incorporate into new and existing designs.
Liaise with external manufacturers and suppliers to establish specification and cost of specialised equipment.
Attend project and design review meeting to ensure that designs are progressed in accordance with concept to launch process.
Ensure all drawings and documentation recorded electronically in a professional manner to ensure data retrieval and maintain traceability to satisfy the requirements of ISO 9001 quality standards.
Consider new technologies to ensure cost effective and innovative product advancements to meet building regulations and industry standards.
Assist the engineering team with the development and implementation of new products, improvement projects and cost reduction.
Be proactive in approach and foster good working relations with department colleagues and internal / external customers.

Essential
Experience of designing products from concept to launch
3D CAD Experience
Desirability
HND degree or similar in mechanical design or engineering
Background in mechanical engineering
THE PACKAGE
The company is offering between £30,000and £30000 salary depending on experience.
