TEACHER OF ENGLISH – WATFORD

A ‘good’ partially selective, mixed 11 – 18 secondary school, located near Watford, is seeking to appoint a Teacher of English for an Easter start. September 2015 starters will also be considered. This position would suit an experienced practitioner or a NQT.

You will be joining a supportive and friendly staff team, who are dedicated to delivering a high quality, English rich curriculum. As well as a great provision for NQT’s, the school prides themselves on their fantastic CPD offering, including a ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ program, for teachers who are consistently delivering ‘good’ lessons and want to make the step up. CPD is heavily encouraged and you will be supported in any area’s you wish to pursue. There is also a fantastic social scene, with staff sports on a Friday and regular team building events.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about English, with a willingness to inspire this in your students. You will be confident in using a range of resources and teaching methods, to ensure that you are consistently delivering varied and engaging lessons. You will be confident in teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4. The ability to teach at Key Stage 5 would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will:

Have QTS from either PGCE, B.Ed or School Direct
Be able to teach English at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5
Have a passion for English
Have a willingness to form part of a successful and enthusiastic team
Create an enriching, supportive and high performing learning environment
