Warehouse Picker / Packer

Salary: £26,000 per year

My client, based on the outskirts of Gateshead Metro Centre, is looking for Picker/Packers for a long term ongoing assignment.

The role will involve taking delivery of stock from trucks, putting stock away in racking systems within the warehouse, then picking and packing items on request of the off-site store. Items are placed into a wheeled basket then despatched by van to store.
Successful candidates will have previous picker/packer experience within a warehouse environment.

The role involves working 5 days over 7 days so including weekends, shifts Monday to Friday are either 11am-7pm or 10am-6pm for a period of time eventually moving to 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm when the busy period arrives, weekend hours at 8am – 4pm so a degree of flexibility is required for this.

role will suit people who have previous warehouse work experience in a fast paced environment. Due to the very nature of the work there is a lot of manual handling and attention to detail, ensuring the correct items are picked to both put away in the warehouse and for the store requests.

Due to current government regulations masks must be worn on site at all times.

The roles are planned to commence in the coming weeks, possibly earlier and to run until the turn of the year into the busy festive period.

There is public transport to the area but is limited so access to own transport/bicycle would be beneficial.
