Design Engineer

Our Client; a truly global leader in the manufacture of Specialist Vehicles and Survivability systems now require three experienced permanent SolidWorks Design Engineers to work on “specialist armoured whole vehicle” design. The roles are immediately available. Suitable applicants should live either in Surrey or within commuting distance of.

Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer, the responsibilities will include:

*To assist the Lead Design Engineer and/or Senior Design Engineer in the delivery of project/product line requirements.
*Solid modelling and detailing of products using SolidWorks.
*Control of Bill of Materials (BoM), CAD Models and Engineering Drawings.
*Engineer to all appropriate product targets, e.g. cost, weight, strength, etc.
*Assist in the generation of and deliver to project timing.
*Ensure appropriate material selection.
*Ensure manufacturing feasibility of product designs.
*Work in accordance to ISO9000 procedures.
*Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Lead Design Engineer.

We seek well educated Contract SolidWorks Design Engineers who have ideally worked in the Automotive industry; better still on component designs for specialist vehicles (i.e. it could be that you have experience working with Specialist Vehicle Operations (SVO), armoured trucks, armoured vehicles, military and defence vehicles, land systems, JCB, Caterpillar, trailers, municipal vehicles, tractors, tanks etc). You should have experience of taking designs from concept to final production, should be a competent 3D SolidWorks user and should be able to take autonomy for various exciting Military Vehicle design projects.
