NOC (Network Operations Centre) Engineer, Basingstoke, to £40k + excellent benefits
In order to support our clients growing international footprint, they are seeking NOC (Network Operations Centre) Engineers to support the creation of a new NOC centre) in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Working in a team of 5 NOC Engineers and reporting directly to the Head of Support Services, you will be responsible for the proactive monitoring of platform metrics, status, alarms, and the prioritisation and reaction to trouble tickets and alerts.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have excellent problem solving skills and enjoy detailed investigation and analysis of issues, plus a demonstrable ability to follow a logical diagnostic process, backed up by strong knowledge of log-searching techniques and an understanding of system event and log messages.
You must be able to communicate issues in a clear concise fashion. A solid grounding in general operating systems, and network topology will benefit you greatly.
You will be working outside of normal UK working hours in a small team, and will be motivated, diligent and enthusiastic. As a member of this newly formed team you will have opportunity to shine, and help shape future expansion and direction of the team. The default hours will be continental 24 x7 shift pattern consisting of 4 days on, 7 am to 7 pm, 4 days off, 4 nights on (7 pm to 7 am) and 4 days off.
The ideal NOC Engineer must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
Ideally experience of operating systems (primarily Linux), application servers, networking however this is not essential.
Knowledge of incident-management processes and service desk roles.
Experience in telephony, and contact centre voice solutions an advantage but not essential.
Excellent English communication skills.
Remuneration:
Salary: To £48,000highly dependent on experience
