Purchase Ledger Clerk

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting a pro-active and experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk for a successful distribution business in Rotherham. They are a well recognised brand in the local region and have a loyal and expansive customer base. Having recently grown through acquisition, they now turnover approximately £12-13 Million each year. They aim to recruit the best people in order to maintain their high standards of service delivery to their customers and suppliers.

The Purchase Ledger Clerk will report directly the Financial Controller and will be working as part of a small but friendly team of 4. As the sole Purchase Ledger Clerk in the team, the department will be your own to enjoy full autonomy and instigate process improvements.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

– Matching purchase invoices to the purchase order system.
– Coding of purchase invoices.
– Inputting and allocating purchase payments on Sage to supplier accounts
– Supplier statement reconciliations at the month end
– Dealing with supplier queries and chasing outstanding invoices
– To provide cross cover with other members of the finance and administrative team
– To provide appropriate and accurate reports as requested to support the monthly management accounts preparation
– To assist with the sales ledger when required, including (but not limited to) issuing credit notes, allocating receipts on sage and general credit control activities
– To be responsible for the distribution of purchase invoices for authorisation by the relevant departmental heads.

To be considered for this role you MUST have the following skills or attributes:

– Previous experience with purchase Ledger – Preferably two years.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Must enjoy working both alone and as part of a team.
– Aptitude for multi – tasking under pressure in a calm and collected manner.
– Good organisational skills are essential.
– Must be PC literate and be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.

Salary is negotiable on experience and the business operates in clean and modern office conditions, with good access to transport links.
