Operations Manager X3 (Gurock)

Due to extensive growth and increasing market demand, a household name retailer is seeking an Operations Manager to play a critical role in the operation of the distribution centre. As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for controlling the vast range of fast paced inventory from inbound to outbound and will work very hard to ensure that customers receive what they want, when they want it.

Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:

-Maintain health and safety standards within area and promote a positive health and safety culture on site.
-Lead, motivate and support a large team within a time-sensitive and fast paced environment. This will include the setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports.
-Be a subject matter expert on larger processes and activities within the distribution centre, i.e. 5s audits, alignment with standard work procedures across the network.
-Management of the timely data collection to update operations metrics on an hourly basis, in an inventory control and systems environment, to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors and thus deliver excellent customer service.
-Work closely with other support teams on staffing plans, schedules and performance levels to enable the distribution centre and the broader operations network to attain the company business plan.
-Implement change and contribute in cross-functional SIX SIGMA initiatives within your site and the broader operations network.
-Drive continuous process improvement and make our customer experience better than ever.
-Be involved in projects and liaise with all teams and/or relevant external actors as required.
-Establish collaborative relationships with individuals from other functions to achieve the goal.
-Be continuously proactive and create a culture of on-going process improvement within the workplace using KAIZEN and LEAN methodologies.

The Professional

As Operations Manager it is a requirement that you have completed a Bachelor’s degree. You will have experience working in a fast paced warehouse/distribution environment with experience in leading and motivating a significantly sized teams (300-400 ppl) and knowledge of inventory control and systems. It is imperative you are data driven and have an analytical capability to be able to drive and conduct dive deep analysis on complex processes.
