Clinical Specialist

My client is looking for a Clinical Specialist to join their organisation within the Buxton area. This is a brand new 75 bed care home delivering exemplary care to those requiring residential, nursing or dementia care on a short or long term basis. To provide and supervise the delivery of high standards of nursing care to Service Users in accordance with current evidence-based professional practice and within company policies, Care Quality Commission standards and regulations, and current legislation.

Monitor the staffing levels to ensure sufficient levels of competent skilled staff in order to deliver high quality care without the need to revert to agency. Support the Team Leader as required to ensure effective and efficient management of care staff in conjunction with the Nursing Care Manager and Home Manager as appropriate. Assist with the induction of new staff and the training and development of care staff as required. Assist in evaluating staff performance. Attend, and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Promote both the personal and professional development of all staff. Keep fully up to date with developments in clinical practice, education and training and cascade this knowledge on to all relevant staff through planned training programmes. Attend and participate in, training sessions. In conjunction with the Nursing Care Manager and Home Trainer ensure that all Team Leaders undertaking the administration of medicines and other enhanced roles are assessed as competent. In conjunction with the Nursing Care Manager and Home Trainer, participate in regular competency review of all Team Leaders undertaking enhanced roles including the administration of medicine. Attend and carry out any delegated supervision sessions for yourself and any staff for whom you have a supervisory responsibility. Ensure accurate records are kept. Identify, plan and co-ordinate individual training plans for all staff to meet employee, Service User and company needs and the Care Quality Commission National Standards and Regulations in conjunction with the Nursing Care Manager and Home Manager.
