Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)

A senior or principal electrical design engineer is required to join an exciting and growing building services (MEP) design consultancy based in North London.

The consultancy has been operating for over 30 years now and currently employs in excess of 50 staff providing mechanical, electrical and public health design, CAD and Revit / BIM and sustainability services to a wide range of clients including architects and developers. They’ve recently moved into new modern offices and provide their engineering staff with all the latest technology to deliver their M&E design solutions.

Working directly under one of the company directors, this vacancy requires an experienced electrical engineer to work at either senior or principal level to deliver projects from initial brief, through all design stages and onto installation. At present the consultancy is operating in various sectors including residential, commercial, retail and mixed use. Being able to meet with clients and liaise with third parties on a regular basis is an essential part of the role. The job also needs an engineer who will be able to manage junior engineers and check the quality of their work.

To apply to this vacancy you should be able to demonstrate previous experience in the delivery of electrical design solutions within the building services / MEP industry. This includes knowledge in the design of security & CCTV, lighting, access control and fire detection systems, cable sizing and LV / HV power distribution. Experience is the use of software such as Amtech, Dialux, Relux and AutoCAD is also advantageous.

In return the company is willing to offer a competitive basic salary of between £54,000and £60k depending on experience.
