Store Manager

Salary: £27,600 – £29,640 per year

Freshly ground coffee… Home-style food… A mellow approach that encourages customers to take their time… Easy to see why people love it—and pretty appealing for a Manager who loves to set a friendly, warm and welcoming mood.

You’ll love the hours, too. The shops close at 7pm so there are no late nights—plus, it’s a five-days-a-week gig. No expectations to go beyond what’s reasonable.

The role

Laidback atmospheres take some effort to create. You won’t be putting your feet up, that’s for sure. It’ll be like running your own small business, in fact.

We’re after someone to take charge of profit-and-loss, budgets, sales targets and Health & Safety. Not to mention inspiring and motivating your team, amazing customer service and… well… taking out the rubbish.

Of course, there’s also something more fundamental to it than that. Every day, you’ll come in and make sure beautiful, handmade, aromatic cups of delicious coffee are delivered from bean to cup. The art of the barista.

The person

Your managerial background will have already seen you running a small team and keeping them focused and motivated.

Sure, you may not have barista experience, but you can be taught that (Coffee#1 is all about investing in, and growing, its people). What’s important is that you’re ready to be out there on the shop floor, leading by example and showing what great customer care looks like.
