Salary: £17.32per hour
Working pattern: 4 on 2 off shift pattern so averages at 42 hours per week (some weeks of 36 and some weeks of 45 hours so we pay 42 hours every week)
Driver – Job Purpose
* To deliver and collect linen/garments from customers, including the loading and unloading of the vehicle.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* To load and unload their vehicle in a safe manner.
* To deliver to the customers in a timely and efficient manner.
* To ensure compliance with all legal regulations.
* To drive their vehicle efficiently in line with KPI targets (eg, MPG).
Customer and Quality Focus
* Ensures efficient, accurate and timely loading and unloading of their vehicle.
* Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers in a positive manner.
* Understands customer needs and ensures delivery of linen/garments in a professional and courteous manner.
* Obtains signed receipts for deliveries/collections and ensures records are kept.
Being Professional
* Takes responsibility and accountability for driving safely and legally.
* Has the ability to remain calm and positive at all times.
* Demonstrates teamwork and flexibility in the role, ensuring that the team delivers results.
* Carries out daily vehicle checks in line with legislation and Company standards.
* Prints copy of daily tachograph and record and keeps as required by legislation.
* Wears Company-issued uniform at all times and uses PPE when needed, maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
* Cleans Company vehicle inside and out to maintain correct presentation.
Driving for Improved Results
* Understands the KPI’s for transport and customer service and actively focuses on these on a daily basis (eg, on time in full delivery).
* Aims for zero driving offences (speeding, parking, PCN’s, etc).
Functional Excellence
* Has safe and fuel-efficient driving skills.
* Ensures the daily debrief is completed and all paperwork is completed accurately and signed off and handed in daily.
* The Driver must have good map reading and navigation skills, in order to cover other routes where required.
* Has a good understanding of the legal compliance required for Drivers and is able to comply with EU Tachograph and Working Time Directive Laws.
* Can operate to the required Company emergency procedures when needed.
Specific Knowledge/Qualifications
Driver – Essential
* Cat C licence
* English speaker – ability to receive instruction in English and speak with customers.
* Appropriate driving licence for the size and type of vehicle being driven.
* Can pass the CLEAN Driver Academy.
* Excellent concentration skills.
* Able to cope with the physical demands of loading and unloading the vehicle.
Desirable
Experience of multi-drop driving operations.
