Technical Sales Engineer

There is now a vacancy for a Technical Sales Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in Kent. As Technical Sales Engineer you will have experience of either internal sales or field sales within engineering. Salary is negotiable, in the region of £33,600. Ideally you will come from a sheet metal background, however other industries may be considered.

Please note: this is a mixed role, with 50% of the time spent in the office, and 50% external sales.

The Technical Sales Engineer will be accountable for managing their own time and deciding upon the best territory areas to target.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Being proactive in managing own territory for potential growth
• Identifying potential new clients and contacting prospects to promote quality engineered products
• Conducting field visits and undertaking presentations / deliveries in order to generate interest
• Managing follow-ups to negotiate and secure orders
• Acting as Technical Support Engineer for client queries, both from the office in Kent and in the field where required
• Demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills through close liaison with clients and resolving product issues
• Managing key accounts to promote further business

Candidate Requirements:

• Technical sales experience within manufacturing
• Engineering background, ideally sheet metal industry
• Strong communication skills
• Highly self-motivated
• Excellent organisational skills
