Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year
Senior PHP Developer | | Circa -£50k -£60k | Fully remote
Our client is the UK’s largest independent online electrical retailer. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a senior PHP developer to join their development team based in Howden, East Yorkshire.
The right candidate will have at least 5 years of commercial experience working as a PHP developer. The candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of an exciting, dynamic company that is heavily investing in the future of it’s IT department.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on the main website and a multitude of internal systems. Our client has an array of systems on a LAMP stack and, more recently, are developing new systems as containerised PHP applications in Docker.

* Have a genuine interest in the latest development techniques and technologies.
Technical Skills
Required
* Strong Object Oriented PHP experience.
* 5+ years of experience in backend PHP development.
* Experience developing for a LAMP stack.
* Good understanding of version control systems (e.g. Git).
* Good understanding of MySQL, or similar relational database software.
* Experience working with, designing or implementing JSON-based RESTful APIs.
Desirable
* Ability to act as a mentor for more junior members of the team.
* E-commerce experience.
* Experience with the Laminas (formerly Zend)/Symfony frameworks.
* Understanding of HTML/CSS/JS.
* Experience with Docker, or similar container-based technologies.
* Experience working under the Agile methodology.
