Workplace description: This period property with traditional charm, located in the heart of the Lake District, features a popular restaurant, bar and modern bedrooms.

The restaurant serves locally sourced dishes by candlelight. The bar features a wood-burner, and offers a selection of British Ales. Just 4 miles from Ambleside town centre and 20 minutes from Windermere. The hotel offers a central and scenic location, with walking and hiking routes available just outside.

Main duties and responsibilities: The role is one of the most important in our business, as you will be responsible for keeping our busy kitchen clean and equipment organised, working closely with the head chef to maintain standards.

Duties:

Wash Pots and Pans by hand

Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks

Receiving and assisting with food deliveries and organising them in the kitchen

Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, chopping boards by loading and unloading dishes into the dishwasher

Washing dirty pots and pans by hand

Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly

Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers

Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items

Providing assistance to Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed

Brushing and mopping surfaces after Lunch and dinner service

Essential criteria: You will have experience of working in a hotel (with a large brigade) to a very high standard. We need a dedicated, punctual, methodical person, who is used to a bit of hard graft!

Charge for accommodation: 46.00 GBP per week
