Client
British luxury furniture and home accessories retailer sourced with an eye for beauty, comfort and unique style. With over 230 employees the business now has a fully structured management team operating its own fulfilment and distribution centre with in-house call centre. The product range has evolved to include everything for the home to include dining tables to chairs, upholstered furniture to beds and bedside tables, tableware and glassware, lighting and cushions and throws, as well as a range of outdoor furniture, which can be delivered worldwide.
Duties/Description
Must have:
* CAD Experience required to be able to create technical packs for the suppliers
* Cabinet making skills with hands on knowledge of how to improve the design through experience of cabinet making.
* A good understanding of mapping process
* design and change management
They are currently looking to recruit a Product Development Engineer in their Oxford Head Office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical product drawing, specifying cabinet constructions for both new and historical items
* 100% review of all products within the current offer and improving the quality of construction used and finishing
* To work closely with the design team to ensure that the products are specified correctly to the factories
* To undertake and review all technical elements of product development from Hardware to cabinets, including the homeware offer
* To work closely with the design teams both in the UK and USA to reduce the amount of technical issues being created through the PD process
* To manage all care guides and assembly information for both brands
* To educate and coach the Product Development team on technical information for both homewares and furniture
* Work closely with the technical manager on reviewing and improving products
* To undertake design reviews with the design team on how best to engineer products for more efficient manufacturing processes
