The company:

You will be joining a leading Defence development and manufacturing company who specialise in Highly Technical defence systems for the Aerospace, Defence, Space and Marine industries.

Successful candidate is part of a team that is responsible for the research, development and manufacture of materials to meet the demanding requirements found in our rocket motors. These requirements include physical, chemical, thermal, erosion, mechanical and ballistic properties under extreme conditions of temperature, pressure, vibration and age.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate would be able to manage the Creo 2 design software and Windchill 10.1 configuration control software and apply basic rules and guidelines/advice for users, problem solving and monitoring future Creo 2 development requirements.

The duties would include but not limited to:

Concept meetings
3D modelling concepts
Design reviews
Detail production drawings
Drawing checking
Liaison with manufacturers and on-site commissioning trials
Model mechanical properties
Producing interfaces and liaising with the customer
A basic knowledge of stressing components would also be an advantage.Requirements:

Candidates should have a formal qualification (HNC, HND or degree) in mechanical, aeronautical or related engineering discipline and should have at least three years’ experience in a related environment. Experience/skills in the following would be an advantage:

Working knowledge of Pro Engineer Creo 2 (Essential)
Working knowledge of Windchill 10.1 or similar
Design for Manufacture techniques
Working knowledge of a wide range of engineering materials and fasteners
National drafting standards BS 8888 and/or BS 308
Working knowledge of Geometric tolerancing, limits and fits.
