Aspray Transport is an award winning Nationwide Specialist Express Carrier also specialising in total logistics solutions and international services.

We are now looking to appoint Recruitment Officer to join the HR/Recruitment team based at the company’s head office in Willenhall in the West Midlands. The company has 14 further depot locations strategically placed throughout the country and this appointment would play a pivotal role in attracting suitable applicants for positions throughout the network, establishing the most effective and efficient means of advertising through to arranging and coordinating the interview process.

Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the role will predominantly focus around the appointment of commercial vehicle drivers, although will include involvement in the search and selection of other positions from warehouse operatives to senior level management.

The Company currently employs in excess of 800 people, however with the continued growth and infrastructure developments it is likely this number will continue to grow and as such applicants should expect to work in a fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate would have a proven background within Recruitment and Candidate Attraction along with knowledge of the transport and distribution industry. Ideally, the candidate would be used to working in a fast-paced environment and be results driven. Duties include:

· Constructing job advertisements, role definitions and person specification.
· Advertising vacancies using a wide range of media including job boards and social media.
· Managing the recruitment process from interview to appointment.
· Briefing candidates on job description, salary and responsibilities
· Receiving, reviewing and screening candidates for job vacancies
· Organising interviews
· Delivering feedback to candidates on interviews
· Communicate with outer depots on a daily basis, providing support and building relationships.
· Understanding best practice/equal opportunities and recruitment processes
· Working closely with HR to ensure up-to-date vacancy information and requesting contracts.
· Reporting directly to the HR director.

Desirable
· Experience of recruiting commercial vehicle drives
· An understanding of vehicle classification
· Geographical knowledge
· Understanding of driver compliance

The candidate must be computer literate, confident in using Microsoft packages and job boards. This role would suit someone who has worked on an industrial driver recruitment desk for an agency or in a similar internal recruitment role for a transport or commercial fleet operator.
